Meggen Tailoring centre is founded by the Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross(SCSC).The dream that begun echoeing through the community sisters of Namugongo some years back was brought to its realisation on 19th March 2023 in one of the rooms next to the Dinning of the sisters.
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS OF MEGGEN TAILORING CENTRE
BLESINGS AND OPENING OF MEGGEN TAILORS IN ONE SMALL ROOM
On 19th March 2023, Fr. Pius Nandebe, a Claretian Missionary Priest from Kenya serving in Uganda blessed Meggen Tailoring room and thee project begun .It was the day of the annual feastday of St. Joseph and sisters were happy that the dream was beginning to take its realization.
EXPANSION OF MEGGEN TAILORING CENTRE
The project begun growing rapidly and needed extention. The room that was initially given for the project became small and thus the need for another place. Sisters in the community, out of their generosity added us another room since we had got some more new Electrical machines and heat became intense .As a result, we had to shift some machines ,thus, we occupied two rooms.

SHARING TAILORING SKILLS WITH OTHERS BY TEACHING THEM

Our organisation offers lessons for those who are ready for training.
Lessons on drafting and Garment cutting and construction continues.
SEWING SCHOOL BAGS,SPORTSWEARS, ALTER LINNENS AND PRINTING BADGES ON THEM
MAKING SCHOOL BAGS AND PRINTING BADGES ON THEM
We make school bags for our schools according to the design requested. We as well do printing of badges and embroidery.
PRIESTS VESTMENTS AND CHURCH CLOTHS
We also make the vestments for priests and atler linens and other church cloths.
ALL UNIFORMS OF DIFFERENT STYLES.
We have our different schools and other schools that offer us chances to stitch their uniforms.We are happy to be helpful to tne society.
SPORTSWEAR AND DRAMA COSTUMES.
So far we have made over 2000 designs of sportwear and drama costumes for different schools.We thank God for our clients.
